And so it begins

One week to Columbus. MACLEAN’S.ca has a nice review already posted here. And, Andrew Davidson, the fine writer who crafted The Gargoyle has written a review of Columbus for AMAZON.com, and I am speechless with gratitude. It is an incredible review. You can read it here. If you haven’t already read The Gargoyle, do!!! Highly recommended. A book you will not want to put down.

This morning, got an e-mail letting me know that Waiting for Columbus is named as an AMAZON.ca Book of the Month!!!

A really nice review in the US publication, BookPage is here.

Still reverberating over Columbus being named to the Indie Pick List in the US. This is really cool. Independent book stores have to nominate the books they like – the ones they think should be on the “pick-list” – and Columbus is in, or on.

Soon, I’ll post a fall tour schedule here. This too, is exciting.

I am fortunate to be in the Amazon Vine Review program, and even more fortunate to request WAITING FOR COLUMBUS to review. I am no author, no scholar, no literary expert – just your average avid reader – but I have to say your book is one of the finest I’ve read since THE DA VINCI CODE. Thank you thank you thank you. I am in awe, honestly, of the depth and breadth of the plot of this book and the subtle and no to subtle turns it takes. I loved how you kept reminding the reader in small sublte ways that Columbus is insane and this is still the 21st century. This book is in my top five books of all time, and I can’t thank you enough for taking me on this wonderful journey with you – and with Christopher Columbus!

Dear Joan,
Thanks for this. You are who I write for. (Though, your being an avid reader makes you “extraordinary”— far from “just average”) This note made my day, Joan.

All the best
Thomas

Dear Thomas, the reviews rival the explosion in the bar!!! Neither are accidents.

Ahhh Ruby, Ruby, Ruby….you will always be my favourite gin-joint proprietor. (but Pinsky really was sorry….about the explosion…he thought that stick of dynamite was fireworks.)
