Columbus in Calgary...stranded

Trofimuk has left me in Calgary. I’m at the Ramada downtown. He had a killer media day in Calgary. I heard him on CBC this afternoon and I have to say, Trofimuk sounded good (for an idiot). He sounded like he was having fun. And then I got a call from him from the scene of an accident. He and his media escort/shepherd, Lora Thistle, got rear-ended on the Trans-Canada near Olympic Park and that stopped the tour of the book stores for signing the books. They were released from the scene and went straight to the airport. I, Christopher Columbus, have found a wonderful young woman who is an airline attendant with an airline that shall remain unknown. Driffa dropped her bag in front of me at the elevator of this hotel and now she has helped me file this report. She’s in the bathtub and we have two bottles of champagne coming from room service. Yes, Trofimuk got on a plane without me!!! He’s back in Edmonton, now.

— I sincerely hope you have enough money to cover your room. McClelland & Stewart won’t pay for you, you know. Nor will Knopf-Doubleday.
—Oh, Mr. Trofimuk, all the way from Edmonton. Don’t worry about me. Driffa is going to drive me home tomorrow. But first, champagne, and Driffa…
—I highly doubt you have an actual woman in your room, Columbus. I think you’ve confused a “real” woman with pay-for-view porn.
—What?
—Naked women on TV. You buy it through the TV.
—What?
—Nothing. Nothing. You’ll just be fascinated and spend all my money on it.
—You must tell me more…about these naked women on TV…
—Forget the porn. Tell me about Driffa.
—She is a tall, blond-haired beauty.
—And she will pay for your room and your obscene booze tab and drive you home?
—Yes.
—And she will pay for the damages in your room?
—Yes.
—Best of luck, Columbus.

¡ Sí a Columbus, sí buena suerte! Y quiero decir que en la mejor manera posible. Tenga cuidado con Coyote, dijo que él podría errar su manera…
