Flamenco for Life this Saturday in EDMONTON
July 21, 2009
I’m hosting an event this weekend called: Flamenco for Life fundraiser. In support of Grandmothers to Grandmothers, a group that seeks to help those women who, having lost their children to AIDS, now must care for not only their grandchildren, but also the children of others in the communities who have passed away. AIDS has already orphaned 13 million children across Africa, with the numbers expected to grow in the coming years. Through the Foundation, African grandmothers are given social support, food, funds for education, income-generation projects, and counseling. For those in the Capital Region here in Alberta….The Paz Y Flamenco Artist’s Collective is proud to announce “Flamenco for Life: a fundraiser gala for Grandmothers to Grandmothers and the Stephen Lewis Foundation.” Presented by the Paz Y Flamenco Artist’s Collective this fundraiser will feature world-renowned flamenco dancer, Ramón Martínez and his flamenco company who will be coming to Edmonton to provide a one-night only performance.
