Have I mentioned recently how brilliant Richard and Judy are? For those who don’t know….Richard and Judy picked Waiting of Columbus, along with seven others…for their brilliant book club in the UK. See the interview and read Richard and Judy’s review of Columbus here. It was a hoot meeting these British icons and I am thrilled that Columbus was picked. Our little Columbus is selling like hotcakes in the UK…I’d love to hear what you think of the video…
Waiting for Columbus begins its two week stint as the “Featured Book” today!!!
NOTE* This just in: “Waiting for Columbus” is on the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award long list!!! We’re on the long-list for the Irish Prize!!!! Yeah!!! Ya, I know it’ a huge list — I mean massive….but what the hell, it’ nice to be on it. It’s a beautiful first….Hey, I just found out minutes ago. Perhaps a wee dram of the good scotch tonight…a small celebration. (Aberlour “a’ bunadh” Single Speyside Malt cask strength — a dram with a little spring water and my god!!!) Here’s the list: IMPAC

I like Richard’s take on the book. I like the book too, and I like Judy. This no-snow-bullshit-in-Novembre though, I do not like. Wishing you smooth sailing… Paulette

It was so much fun to sit down with these two. Richard’s mother is from Saskatchewan…so the Canadian factor was there right from the start.
Where is the snow? Bring it! I’m ready — have been ready for quite a while.

I only bought this book because it was recommended by Richard and Judy! Every book I’ve bought on their ‘hotlist’ has been great. Waiting for Columbus really is one of the best books I’ve ever read. The writing is beautiful but not labored. There is nothing artificial about the language or the story. So Thank You for a good read! I will be rushing out to buy your other books. When we are not snowed in anymore!
