the unfinished files
October 19, 2007
S ometimes I find little half finished poems or stories waiting in desktop files. This is one...
Sunday night
k.d. lang singing a Joni Mitchell tune
about drinking a case of you, and she’d
still be on her feet. I’m silently impressed,
because at four beers, come morning
my head throbs like a traitorous son-of-a-bitch
and I’m moving like a destroyed Hemingway
looking for the goddamned medicine, carefully
swallowing the little brown pills and inching
into the shower, waiting, waiting for the dullness
in the back of my head to wane.

thomas,
here are some interesting k.d. lang trajectories.
1. did you know that tippy a go-go was a back-up dancer for k.d. lang in the 80s? it is true…just ask him.

Okay, that story is just really f—-ed up. What the? This toothless, spitting, gourmet-cooking mechanic made k.d’s dreams come true?!?!??! But maybe it wasn’t him who made k.d.‘s dreams come true, but one of the lady friends….Oh, my mind hurts.
